About Hannah Ray

Hannah Ray is a British-born, Cape Town-based singer-songwriter, live performer and multidisciplinary creative. Her music sits between soulful R&B, cinematic pop and organic electronic music, combining intimate vocals, rich melodies and honest storytelling.

Hannah began writing songs at 13 and officially launched her recording career in 2024. Since then, she has built a growing audience across South Africa, the UK, US, Canada and Australia, while gaining strong support from South African radio. Her single “Show Me Love” with Locnville reached #1 on the 5FM charts for five consecutive weeks, marking a major milestone in her career.

Her music moves between deeply personal songwriting and more expansive, rhythm-led production. In September, 2026, Hannah released “Slopes,” a melodic house collaboration with internationally recognised producer Polar Inc, further exploring the electronic side of her sound. Her upcoming releases move into a new chapter of R&B, soulful pop and organic electronic music, bringing together the different sides of her musical identity.

As a live artist, Hannah has performed at Rocking the Daisies and the Cape Town International Jazz Festival, and has opened for internationally acclaimed artists including Jordan Ward and Mereba. She performs both intimate stripped-back sets and with her five-piece band, creating a live experience built around soulful vocals, dynamic musicianship and genuine connection.

Beyond the music itself, Hannah’s creative world is shaped by fashion, film, visual storytelling and culture. Her work has a distinctly cinematic quality, with an emphasis on creating an atmosphere and a world around the music rather than simply releasing songs.
